WHO Is An Engraver?
An engraver is an artist that etches specific designs, words, and even images onto different types of materials. The design or the image is based on a client’s specifications or the artist’s own personal designs.
About ExLibris (Bookplate)
An Ex-Libris (bookplate) is a mark of ownership which the owner of a book sticks into the inside of the cover. It is made by an artist who is commissioned by the owner to create according to his wishes and ideas a small graphic that bears the owner's name and the word Ex-Libris.
Details
Block Printing Process
1. Transfer your design to the printing block.
2. Carving away the material you don't want to print.
3. Complete all of your cuts.
4. Mix ink and linseed oil.
5. Roll the brayer directly over your block until an even coat is applied.
6. Place the paper and use a baren to press slowly and evenly.
7. Remove the paper and voila!
